On Thursday 22.04.2021 at 12:30pm, the Cinema Excelsior in Brugg opened its doors. The first time after a long, involuntary Covid break. And for the first time as part of our festival. On time and with obvious anticipation, the first maniacs appeared in the cinema foyer and exchanged their 3-day tickets for festival passes. And barely an hour later, Frontier (s), the first film flickered across the screen.
Around 50 fans of extreme cinema got their hands on a pass and sold out the festival surprisingly quickly. With comparable commitment, the event itself continued. Quite a few have watched all 16 films. Simply great!
We would like to apologize to you for the blunders during some screenings. While Hall had to listen to an overly long Japanese dialogue without subtitles, the darn subtitles in Maniac were slightly delayed and finally had to be switched off completely with Uncle Peckerhead. We hope that no one spoiled the fun. If you have suggestions for improvement and tips, be sure to write to us scream@brugggore.ch
Despite the difficult conditions, however, the atmosphere was consistently good. All Covid requirements were consistently met and we would like to thank you in particular for that. You would have loved to have a beer in the cinema room or ponder about the last film together in the foyer. Let's hope that we can catch up on all this and much more next year.
By the way: BRUGGGORE #2 will take place from 28.04. to 30.04.2022. Depending on the availability of films worth seeing, the program will be further expanded and even expanded by an additional day. So save Wednesday 27.04 as well to be on the safe side. Passes for individual days will then also be offered next year. But of course we are looking forward to seeing as many permanent guests as possible again in 2022. We'll keep you up to date.
