After what felt like much too long a summer break, we can finally get back to doing what we love to do. Crawl back into the cinema, where it's pretty dark and we meet ARACHNOPHOBIA and EIGHT LEGGED FREAKS. The BRUGGGORE Horror Double Fearture Lunch Cinema Extravaganza Season 4 therefore starts with mean eight-legged friends. And we're “so happy it hurts” about that. For everyone who should have forgotten this slogan again, here is the YouTube link.

The animal horror classic ARACHNOPHOBIA opens the daily program — the tough spider friends with tightrope nerves should enjoy this. As the name suggests, the film is about the fear of spiders. After an expedition from the Venezuelan jungle, an aggressive spider species arrives in a small Californian town and begins to spread briskly there. As deaths pile up, provincial doctor Jeff Daniels is becoming more and more arachnophobic and exterminator John Goodman is already preparing the lethal injection. Back then, over five minutes had to be cut from the film so that it made it onto German free TV. Let's see who sits quietly with us in the unabridged version!

Also in EIGHT LEGGED FREAKS (also published here as ARAC ATTACK) is all about spiders — but it's much less oppressive, but more lively. Venomous spiders are foolishly exposed to a chemical and grow to monstrous sizes. So big that they eat motorcyclists or overturn tank trucks. You have to see it to believe it. Interestingly enough, director Ellory Elkayem was only allowed to produce C-movie trash afterwards, which I personally find unjustified. Over-the-top spider action with David Arquette, Kari Wuhrer and Scarlett Johansson — I don't understand the problem!
