Be-geisterung unter Wasser

In 1982, Texas Chainsaw Massacre had director Tobe Hooper with Poltergeist Perhaps the most famous ghost horror film brought to the big screen. None other than Stevens Spielberg wrote it. It is therefore not surprising that the film has set new standards in terms of horror and that the horror genre has become virtually suitable for blockbusters. Countless ghost films, haunted houses or creepy children with frightening visions have made it onto cinema screens since then. But there hasn't been anything like The Deep House yet.

With The Deep House French directors Alexandre Bustillo and Julien Maury (known from A l'Interieur, Leatherface or The ABCs of Death 2, among others) move the haunted house environment underwater. A young couple experiences sheer horror while diving to a flooded house. The film achieves maximum scores on the fingernail claw scale and the claustrophobic underwater world creates lasting discomfort.
