What should be done if trade unions and lawsuits in court do nothing against the corrupt machinations of big, bad industrialists? In Mladen Đorđević's film, the inhabitants of a Serbian mountain village think they have to resort to supernatural means in order not to lose out in the fight against the miserable economy and its beneficiaries. Or at least they try, because in Đorđević's film, which is both satirically inspired horror and social criticism, everything unfolds leisurely and without straight explanations.
The atmospheric, unconventional film wins thanks to its close observation of these people in need, the great performances of the ensemble of figures and the wonderful shots from the farthest corner of the Balkans.
