The Blob

THE BLOB (1988) is one of those films that you simply couldn't make today. “Alien slime creature devours people in a small town” — who would give you another $20 million for it in 2023?

A deadly creature from outer space crashes near a small town and starts devouring everyone in its path. Panic breaks out as shady government scientists try to contain the terrifying creature.

So much for the story. But The Blob is much more than that: With good narrative speed, great actors and wonderful special effects, the slimy disaster film impresses in all areas.
