Ella Blake is a stop motion animator who is struggling with her own demons following the loss of her dominant mother. Now alone in the world, she starts working on a macabre puppet film that becomes a battlefield in the mirror of her mental state. As Ella's mind gradually begins to crumble, the characters in her animated film develop a life of their own — the unleashed power of their imagination threatens to destroy them.
STOPMOTION is the first long feature film by director Robert Morgan, who has so far realized his animations as a short film. In this self-reflective story, he intertwines the lovingly designed world of stop motion into a creepy live-action world, in which he literally makes the puppets dance.
