With THE SUBSTANCE, Demi Moore is definitely enthusiastic about body horror. Our opinion is that she would have deserved an Oscar for that. Her genre career began earlier. More specifically in 1982 with her first film PARASITE.

There is a post-apocalypse again and a criminal organization is forcing a scientist to create a parasite that can control people. But the scientist is able to escape and carries his parasite to a small desert town. There, the pest starts to grow and infect innocent people and it is up to Demi to put an end to the voracious organism.

The B-movie fun with effects by Master Stan Winston is presented in stereoscopic 3D, just like in cinema back then. So 3D glasses on your nose and popcorn in the food hatch!
