You Can't Look Away

Opera

Opera singer Betty is allowed to step in after the leading actress had an accident during a performance of Verdi's Macbeth. But Betty's luck doesn't last long. Shortly after their debut, a masked killer starts brutally killing people around her and forces Betty to watch him do it. The murders are very insidious, carried out with needles that are glued to eyelids so that you can no longer close the eyes. As Betty tries to escape, a dark secret from her past that is connected to the killer is gradually revealed.

After PROFONDO ROSSO (DEEP RED), SUSPIRIA, INFERNO, TENEBRAE and PHENOMENA, OPERA virtually marks the end of the classical Argento giallos. A visual masterpiece, atmospherically dense and opulently staged, like an opera by Verdi.
