Greeks vs. Monsters

Minore

Mythology and Greece — a couple that belongs together. Even in Konstantinos Koutsoliota's horror film, which is actually a heroic legend with a modern twist. Because just like Odysseus once upon a time, the young sailor William (Davide Tucci) arrives on a Greek island to confront his own roots and face the monsters there. It's stuff for legends.

Surprisingly much of Koutsoliota's patiently told film lies in character development — MINORE is in equal parts a Lovecraft-inspired monster film and — like almost every rich horror film — a social drama. The horror is controlled by CGI monsters, which will make fans of unusual creature designs somewhat nostalgic. An unusual mix of genres from an unexpected corner of Europe!
