It is as unimaginable as it is breathtaking what Takahide Hori has designed, built, composed, filmed and animated over many years of manual work alone. A life's work and a masterpiece of stop-motion animated films.

JUNK HEAD is set in a distant future where humanity has lost its ability to reproduce. An expedition is sent to an underground city where artificial humanoids are still fertile.

JUNK HEAD doesn't need an extraordinary amount of story. Rather, it is a fascinating tour through Takahide Hori's fantastical world of thought, populated by strange creatures and obscure technology. The film was selected by FANTOCHE - International Festival for Animated Film. We are looking forward to this collaboration and that an animated genre film will finally find its way to the festival again in 2024.
